So much sand that you might think you are on Tatoonie. But this is no Tatoonie or Jakku, it is the annual Sentosa Sandsation sand sculpting festival and this year it is featuring the Star Wars Edition.
This year the Sentosa Sandsation zooms across the galaxy far far away with 21 iconic characters and scenes of sand sculptures from the iconic film franchise.
Experience beloved scenes right out of The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi. All scuptures recreated by local and international sand sculptors.
These are no miniature models but huge ones, some even reach a height of 12 feet by 20 feet in length.
The models of art were created by some of the world’s most renowned sand artists, who were handpicked by the Singaporean creative director of the event, JOOheng Tan, who admits that he’s a big fan of the movies.
Both sides of the Force are well represented with Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Han Solo, Chewbacca and for the Dark Side, Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett, Kylo Ren and the all fearing Darth Vader.
Other works of art showing Stormtroopers, Captain Phasma, Rey, ATAT Walkers, Princess Leia and the beloved droids C3P0 and R2D2.
