There are 3 separate parts to the grinder. One half contains the top teeth, the other half is the deep pollen catcher. The center piece which screws onto the bottom half, contains the other set of teeth and are aligned in such a way that when both halves are turned, any herbs or spices placed inside are effectively shredded. The holes with mesh filters on the center piece filters out the pollen for a no-mess grinding experience.

Place your spices into the center piece, but do not overload. Ensure no material is sticking out over the lip, this causes the magnetic to not work correcly resulting in spillage and messiness. Grind slowly initially and as you continue, you will notice it gets easier as the material has been shredded into smaller bits. Give it a few good taps to filter out the pollen and let it fall through the mesh into the pollen catcher. Once you are happy, separate the 2 halves. Depending on what you are grinding, collect the pollen material in the catcher or the grinded material in the center piece. Keep leftover herbs and spices fresh and sealed inside.
